Hello lovely people!
We are nearly finished our {Make} A Bag Sew Along, and I thought I’d let you all know what I’ll be doing next. I’ll be donning my backpack and taking up my walking stick fashioned from an old branch, and I’ll be going exploring! The wonderful and beautiful world of mini quilts will be the subject of my exploration. I’m so keen to start playing around with different quilt blocks, colours, styles, layouts and quilting methods. Making mini quilts will really allow me the opportunity to do a lot more exploring as everything is on a smaller scale and therefore faster to finish. And of course, it would be no secret by now that I love making tutorials, so expect to see a few of those scattered here and there along the way. I do hope you’ll put on your hiking boots and join me on this adventure. It’s going to be so much fun!
I mentioned in my last post that Char of Crap I’ve Made is celebrating ONE MILLION visitors to her blog by holding a whole week long of giveaways. So awesome! I thought I’d throw my little hat in the ring and offer two prizes as part of this mega week:

As you can see, I am already getting into the mini quilting mood with this giveaway! My giveaway is open worldwide, and you can enter by clicking below:

That quilt is beautiful! I’ll certainly be following you on your adventure – you’ve got me well and truely hooked to this sewing thing (thank you!). Unfortunately, I don’t live in the US or Canada so I won’t be able to enter the giveaways, but I’ve enjoyed looking at them all and been introduced to some cool sites!

Hi Angela!
That is wonderful news! I am always happy to foster a sewing addiction!
Most of the giveaways do seem to be open only to US and Canada, but you might be happy to know that my giveaway will be open worldwide. So please do enter!
Really? Yay! {does the happy dance}
Oh yes for sure! I am in Australia so I know the disappointment of ‘US & Canada readers only’ giveaways, and I didn’t want to do that to my lovely readers.
Oh I do love to read crap it sounds like fun ! Thanks so much for the photo you sent , love , love , love the fabrics used .
I’ve been making baby quilts. Just straight squares so far. All for charity. There are so many kids out there without warm blankets for winter so I’ve helped a few feel warm this winter. All from donated fabric and materials. People are so generous when the know what you are doing.
Looking forward to see what you do with your mini quilts.
off now to read crap. lol
I’m looking forward to the mini-quilt! I was thinking about doing a couple of these for gifts for the holidays. Oh, and I love Char & her “crap” {which btw is not crap at all…I love her blog title!!}
Hi Kelly- I’ve just started on the quilt thing because of your sew along.
My husband thanks you for my new addiction and all my fabrics that are all over the house. Shhh… he has NO CLUE what I’ve got because most of it is still neatly folded in a tower of fabrics waiting to fall on his head when he walks into the piano room. LOL I love making quilts! How big is a quilt that’s considered “mini”? I made a baby quilt for my sister in law and it was SUPER fun and easy. Yep, I said it, making a quilt was FUN and EASY!
I love mini quilts! Your’s is adorable:-)
I am a huge fan of mini quilts. If anyone is unsure of what to do with them they may consider donating to a local maternity hospital to give to new mums who have had a stillborn baby. A very worthwhile cause. love annie
Love your quilt! I’m new to quilting and am working on a Halloween mini quilt. I love the quilt on the cover of the book with the flowers! Hopefully someday I will be good enough to make one.

I was following the make a bag sew along but got sidetracked with the birth of my twin grandbabies. I hope you will leave the tutorials accessible for a while. I have a lot of stuff to catch up on. I definitely will be joining you on your mini quilt adventure. Since I’ve been involved with Project Sweet Peas (I am co-leader and chief quilt maker for CT & MA) I’ve been making only small & mini quilts. I make isolette sizes for babies who are stying in the NICU and minis to send home with parents of non-surviving babies. Those are emotionally the hardest to make as I know the baby will never get to use it. We include them in a memory box that is given to the parent to help them with their loss.
I have to go check out the “crap” which I’m sure is just lovely. That’s too funny because my husband refers to my craft stuff as “craft crap”. I thought it was kind of catchy and considered setting up a business and calling it “Craft Crap” but was afraid that would turn people off. I may still do it someday!
Have fun! I’ll be looking forward to hearing more from you. I LOVE tutorials.
Jeanne
