I’ve Never Owned A Bag That Smells Soooo Good!

in Life, etcetera

I was lucky enough to win a very unique and ingenious Kool Aid Jammer Tote from the very clever Tara {of Sew Tara}. The giveaway was hosted at The Monster and Me, whose tagline makes me giggle: “Demolishing cities since 2009″. *snort*

This is such a clever construction, and made all the more better because Tara has made it with Mother Earth in mind by recycling products previously destined for landfill. But the best thing about this bag? It smells so yummy! In fact I have had to stop the kids from walking about with it on their heads so they could immerse themselves in its heavenly smell.

Here is my son Elijah with the Kool Aid Jammer Tote, who paused long enough to take it off his head so that I could take a photo:

I own something quite unique as they don’t sell Kool Aid in Australia {as far as I know}. It will be perfect for shopping trips! Or great as an alternative for a brown paper bag for when I’m in a hyperventilatative (just invented that word) state. Thanks again Tara and Cassidy & Kristin for this wonderful prize! You are all on my NICE people list!

Kelly, that bag is so much fun. You’d better watch out or it will disappear into the possession of one of the kids! I know what you mean about it smelling so good. I recently made a string quilt (inspired by Stephanie at Loft Creations) and I had a friend save me all her spent dryer sheets to use for foundations for each block. I don’t remember whose site I saw that tip on, but it was one of the best ideas because not only was it recycling and free, but the quilt smells just lovely! ~karen

This cool aid bag is really cool. I just made one from coffee pouches, want to come to my blog to have a look?

What a cool prize. Congrats on the win. I’ve seen things similar to that at some local craft shows and thought they were really cute.

I used to have my own tailoring/custom sewing business. One day a customer came in with a bag of empty (well, not quite empty – the bag was sticky and left drips of koolaid on my counter) juice bags and wanted me to make one of these bags for her. Not only was the bag sticky, each pouch was also – she didn’t bother to rinse/dry them out. I don’t know who was more astonished about this whole encounter…the customer, when I told her that the pouches had to be washed and dried before I would even think about the job…or me, when she informed me that she was willing to pay me a WHOLE EIGHTS DOLLARS TO MAKE the bag (she wanted it to be four pouches by four pouches on the front and back).

You are indeed a lucky lady – I wouldn’t make one of those for thirty bucks! Probably not even for fifty! They are cute but too much work.

Wow, what cool bag you’d won. Very clever design!
Your little boy is very handsome too, I must say a very good model. :)

Hi Katherine! It is very cute fabric isn’t it! The quilt behind my son was made for me by my sister-in-law, probably about 5 years ago. I don’t know what the fabric is called. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful!
