in On My Corkboard

Howdily Doodily Neighborinos! Today I’m introducing a brand new part of my blog called ‘On My Corkboard’. Below you will see my corkboard, to which I have pinned photos of your creations from my tutorials. I have decided that if you email me your photos of your finished projects, I will stick them on my corkboard! Otherwise you can share them by adding them to the Flickr Pool, which is happily growing all the time!

So here are the photos which have been sent to me via email…

In case you don’t speak Dutch {like me!} here is what Babel Fish came up with as a translation of what Hendrikje said:
“Hello Kelly, I hope that your Dutch better it is than my English, so that you get this mailtje. By means of of the Plakhuis arrived I on your blog and the leuke will pile up. ‘ k also right has bought substance and has started. My English is not this way best, therefore at certain things I could follow it not entirely. Fortunately is prepares for me from time to time with recommendation to provide. Therefore so far everything have succeeded. A couple foto’ s. Heal very nice that you want share this with everyone. Thanks. Greet, Hendrikje.”
I get the general gist of what she’s saying!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed the first edition of my corkboard. It is really something special to see how people have put my tutorials together. My husband said it was kind of surreal to see all your photos, thinking that you all made it from the instructions I gave. It is certainly a thrill!

If you would like your photos featured on my corkboard, please email them to me along with anything you would like to say about the materials, process, etc., and I would be delighted to show them off for you! I don’t mind if you have already posted them in the Flickr pool, or if you post them in the Flickr pool and email them to me as well. If you send it, I’ll stick it on my corkboard!

Unfortunately there will be no sew along tutorial this week. I have been really busy with the kids, and we went away for a few days this week also which has left me with no spare time. On top of all that I also have a rental inspection tomorrow – ugh. If you also rent and too loathe inspections, give me a huge sigh of exasperation…
…ah yes, I heard that! Nice to know I’m not alone. :D

Til next time!

The cork board was a great idea. Love how all those bags turned out. I’ve been so caught up in other things I still haven’t gotten around to trying this but it’s on my list and I will get to it sooner or later :)
Good luck on the rental inspection. There’s a girl I work with that has to go through those and goes crazy trying to get everything ready for it.

You have got a great idea! All the items people have sewn with your tutorials are very, very cute.

At the moment I am very busy so I can’t be with you in this SAL but I visit your blog every time you publish a post, I love your big ears dog, you know, always ready to listen. I keep your tutorials like gold (as we say, more or less, in my place) because I’d like to sew all these pretty pieces as soon as I can.

Thank you for sharing all these!

Kelly, your corkboard is amazing. What a cool idea. Everyone’s bags have turned out so neat and professional looking. A good teacher makes for good students. Thank you for teaching us! (And, I’m using that handy chain piecing shortcut you taught us when I make neck coolers. It really does cut sewing time in half and saves thread to boot. Thank you!!)

The corkboard is great, I love looking at all the different colors and fabric combinations! I have to say I am glad you are taking a break from putting up tutorials, maybe it will give me a chance to get caught up (I was on vacation for a good part of June so didn’t get started till this week). But I am almost finished with my bag and love your directions! Thanks so much for this tutorial!

I had to come back for a second look at all these delicious bags for inspiration. Amazing at how different they are from each other, yet were made from the same set of directions. I’ve decided to gather my fabrics together and ready to go so that the next rainy day we have, I can start my day with a new project and finish it, too, so that it doesn’t become yet another UFO! ~karen

Great cork board!
Those totes are fab!
I’ve just finished lesson one on the bag so I’m glad that there are no more lessons this week. Being in the middle of school holidays makes it kind of hard to sew with the kids around. But really enjoying it so far…. I may have got a megga stiff interfacing than normal stiff interfacing…. still can sew it but boy is it stiff! lol

ooops I can’t wait to finish my bag to show you.
